Geocaching in Preservation Parks

Geocaching and letterboxing are fun hobbies that provide a great reason to enjoy the outdoors. Preservation Parks does allow geocaches and letterboxes to be placed in the parks, as long as Park District guidelines are followed.

Caches and letterboxes must be placed close to the trails or within public areas, to minimize the impact on wildlife habitat and other sensitive areas.

Owners must fill out and submit an application, before a geocache or letterbox can be placed. Click on the links for rules and guidelines for owners and seekers, and for the permit application form.
